That’s a wrap: 2020 AIR Awards winners and celebrations
The 2020 AIR Awards were hosted in Adelaide tonight, Thursday October 1st, and featured a huge line up of guest stars, winners and amazing performances.
The event was hosted at The Lion Arts Factory, broadcast on AIR’s YouTube channel and hosted by Dylan Lewis who was joined by Adelaide host Jessica Braithwaite. The official Welcome to Country opened the ceremony and included moving performances from Stella Donnelly, The Teskey Brothers, Angie McMahon and The Soul Movers.
The night celebrates the success of the wonderful Australian Independent Music sector, with 18 awards, 4 brand new categories this year, to recognise the achievements of our home grown talent.

In a show of girl power, both Stella Donnelly and Tones And I walked away with two awards each to add to their repertoire. Stella Donnelly won Independent Album Of The Year and Best Independent Pop Album or EP while Tones and I won Independent Song Of The Year and Breakthrough Independent Artist of The Year.

ABC Music came away as the Best Independent Label and thanks to Moshtix they will will receive a digital marketing package valued at $10,000 to help showcase their talent to the music public. Moshtix is Australia’s industry leading GA ticketing provider specialising in live music and entertainment, and proud supporting partner of the 2020 AIR Awards.
Proving the spirit of hard work and community in the Australian music industry, the 2020 Outstanding Achievement Award sponsored by Merlin went to Emily Ulman. She did incredible work supporting artists during the COVID closure through her work creating the Isol-Aid Instagram festival.
