Aussie world-beaters 5 Seconds Of Summer have become the latest act announced to perform at the 2018 ARIA Awards.
Just days after British singer Rita Ora was announced as the first performer for this year’s ARIA Awards, homegrown heroes 5 Seconds Of Summer have been confirmed as the next act making an appearance.
Having released their third album, Youngblood, back in June, the Sydney group have had quite a year, with the record’s title track becoming this year’s longest running Australian No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Currently over in Europe, 5 Seconds Of Summer have just picked themselves up the Best Rock award at the MTV European Music Awards, and riding a huge wave of success thanks to their cover of Queen’s ‘Killer Queen’ for the film Bohemian Rhapsody.
Slated to perform a stunning live version of ‘Youngblood’, 5 Seconds Of Summer might also be taking home a few awards on the night, nominated for Best Group, Best Pop Release, Apple Music Song Of The Year and Best Australian Live Act.
This year’s ARIA Awards are set to take place at the Star Event Centre in Sydney, with the ceremony hosted by Keith Urban. This year’s nominees were announced early last month, and can be read below.
