Industry veteran Andrew White launches Milk Bar Management

Australian music industry veteran Andrew White has heralded his return to artist management with the launch of new venture Milk Bar Management.

The management firm officially launched this week with a roster featuring Gabriella Cohen, McDermott & North and Fox DeRoche, with White describing the agency as “less of a strict company and more of a family”.

White’s return to artist management follows on from his five-year tenure with LA-based firm Three Six Zero, where he managed the likes of deadmau5, Duke Dumont and Pendulum, and worked alongside clients such as Frank Ocean and Calvin Harris.

In 2017, White returned to Australia to accept a tour operations position with Live Nation, with the renowned industry figure making the pivot back to artist management during the brunt of the pandemic last year.

“As I watched show after show become ‘cancelled’ or ‘postponed’ my focus shifted away from international talent and I quickly realised we had this increasing buildup of phenomenal talent right in our very own backyard,” White explains of Milk Bar’s foundations.

“I’m not saying they weren’t there before, but for now, they couldn’t leave the country. Eventually venues would open up, but well before they could reach any capacity large enough to attract international talent, there would be a wide-open hole in the market for domestic artists.

“It was this revelation, the right time, right place, and a little bit of luck, that I made my foray back into management.”
