ANZ Stadium to host bushfire benefit concert, Fire Fight Australia

TEG Dainty and TEG Live have announced plans for a colossal benefit concert set to raise money for bushfire relief. Fire Fight Australia is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 16th at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

“This national initiative will raise money for relief from the bushfires that continue to devastate communities and challenge emergency services in rural and regional Australia,” TEG said in a statement.

“This is a major musical event which will see globally renowned artists from Australia and around the world come together to perform and show solidarity with people whose lives have been disrupted by the bushfires.”

The lineup of artists set to grace the stage is yet to be revealed. However, Queen, Adam Lambert and Alice Cooper are playing ANZ Stadium that same week, so perhaps Australia is in the running to host their own Live Aid 1985 experience.

Over the past few weeks, the Australian music community has banded together to host a slew of events that aim to raise money for bushfire relief during these dire times.

Dan Sultan, Polish Club, Custard, Art vs Science, Regurgitator and The Neptune Power Federation will play The Metro Theatre on January 11th with all proceeds going to Red Cross and Wires.

Press Club, Gooch Palms, Columbus, Mid City, Fangirl and more will be playing a benefit at Stay Gold on January 10th.

The Wiggles will be reuniting their original lineup for a one-off show at Castle Hill Tavern with all proceeds going to Australian Red Cross and Wires on January 18th.

The legendary Wolfmother, ARC (members of Spiderbait, You Am I, Jet & Even), Jackson Carrol and Monica Frances will play The Beach Hotel in Byron Bay on Wednesday, January 8th. Whilst Bernard Fanning, T’N’T, Tim Rogers, Tex Perkins & The Loose Rubber Band, Jimmy Willing & The Real Gone Hick-Ups will play on Thursday, January 9th. With funds going to the firies.

The Enmore Theatre is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, January 11th featuring Nooky, Thundamentals, Hoodzy and Jazmine Nikitta. Proceeds will be directed to the Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities.
