Band with 2,000 members to release single ‘Stand By You’

Paul Kelly, The Preatures’ Izzi Manfredi, Jimmy Barnes, Megan Washington, Peter Garrett, Kate Miller-Heidke and DMA’S Johnny Took are just a few of the over 2,000 musicians who took part in music industry charity project EveryOneBand.

Producers Mark Callaghan (GANGgajang) and David Nicholas (INXS, Elton John) banded together a 66 piece string section (including the Sydney Symphony Orchestra), a 70+ strong piano and keyboard cohort (led by Wiggle Jeff Fatt), over 240 drummers, percussionists and bass players; over 260 guitarists; and even bagpipes from Wiggle Anthony Field.

The pair didn’t just want to break the record for the biggest band and largest interactive recording project ever, Callaghan and Nicholas are giving 100% of all record royalties and all profit from merchandise to Support Act, the Australian music charity assisting musicians, road crew and anyone that has worked professionally in music.

The project, EveryOneBand, is releasing ‘Stand By You’ tomorrow, with a goal to have it achieve Gold certification and obtain the #1 ARIA position. If it does make it to a Gold, all members will all receive their own Gold Award Certificate.

The single also features Suze DeMarchi, Ross Wilson, Katie Noonan, Richard Clapton, Tommy O’Dell, , Steve Kilbey, Alex Smith, Diesel, Jade MacRae, Kirin J Callinan, Emma Dean and Gary Pinto, accompanied by the Café At The Gate Of Salvation Gospel Choir.

Callaghan and Nicholas spent weeks editing vocals, aligning files and sub-mixing before completing the final mix.
