BIGSOUND has announced its final round of artists for 2017

BIGSOUND, Australia’s biggest music industry conference, has today unleashed its final announcement of artists for their 2017, bringing the final artist count to a whopping 134.

Having already announced a massive amount of artists for the event, including Winston Surfshirt, Alex the Astronaut, and Ruby Fields, and an impressive list of speakers, including Archie Roach, Jane Gazzo, and Tina Arena, one could be forgiven for thinking BIGSOUND couldn’t get any bigger. Thankfully though, we’ve been proven wrong with today’s announcement.

BIGSOUND’s final announcement includes some of the finest purveyors of noisy rock in the country, with bands such as sleepmakeswaves, West Thebarton, WAAX, and The Beautiful Monument joining the festival. Tia Gostelow, Caiti Baker, and Washington also make an appearance, flying the flag for some of the finest Australian female songwriters on offer.

Electronic and hip-hop music also get a look-in with the final announcement, with Confidence Man, Cub Sport, Golden Vessel, Manu Crook$, Thandi Phoenix, and Midas.Gold all serving as impressive additions.

“The quality of new and Australian music is currently exemplified by how hard it was to choose these artists out of approximately 1070 applications,” said BIGSOUND Festival programmer Maggie Collins. “Every single artist on this lineup has something unique to showcase and to achieve. I’m frothing over these acts and can’t wait to show them off.”

Tickets to BIGSOUND are on sale now, with single-night passes costing you $45, and a four-night Rainbow pass setting you back $85. Purple passes, which allows you access to conferences, delegate portal and label parties in addition to the showcases are also available, with special rates available until July 31st.

Check out the final announcement below, and head to the BIGSOUND site for tickets and more details.
