Soundtracking the AFL Finals Series is a big deal and this year’s pick is none other than local rock favourites Hands Like Houses.
After catching everyone’s attention with their cover of Fuel’s ‘Shimmer’ on Triple J’s Like A Version, the Canberra rockers are going from strength to strength as their new single, ‘Dangerous’, has been hand-picked to be the soundtrack for the 2020 AFL Finals Series.
‘Dangerous’ will be featured in ad spots that are scheduled to be broadcast across the specialised AFL channel, FOX Footy, over the course of October.
The ad will be featured across a range of specialist FOX Footy shows, such as AFL 360, The Bounce, and The Couch, the Brownlow Medal Award Show, and during a number of selected games each round where a guaranteed audience of over 500,000 is expected.
This partnership between Hands Like Houses and the AFL Finals Series is notable for being the first content of its kind to be produced by FOX Footy.
Speaking about the partnership, Hands Like Houses singer Trenton Woodley says, “It’s been such an honour to be included in this year’s finals coverage on Fox Footy — we’ve all grown up around sport as a deeply ingrained part of Australian life and despite a rollercoaster of a year, it still means a ton to us to be able to bring our own vibe and flavour to what’s going to be a massive finals series!
“‘Dangerous’ is a song about nervous energy, about questioning yourself and your ability to keep cool and under control under pressure. Sounds like finals to me.”
