First premiered in Sydney and Melbourne this past July, further showings of phenomenal documentary Her Sound, Her Story have been announced at cinemas around the country through the rest of the year.
The film is a powerful commentary on the struggles and experience of non-white males in the Australian music industry. Made over the course of four years by photographer Michelle Grace Hunder and filmmaker Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, this documentary places women’s voices at the centre of the conversation.
The film is an intimate look into the experiences and histories of over 40 musicians from all over the country. Featuring interviews with Tina Arena, Jen Cloher, Banoffee, Mama Kin, Julia Stone, Missy Higgins and so many more incredible women, trans and non-binary folk, it’s a much needed conversation starter
More screenings have also been confirmed for Melbourne, Cairns, Perth, Tasmania and Castlemaine, so don’t fret if a showing near you hasn’t been announced!
