2018’s ‘JP Partnership’ between Josh Pyke and APRA AMCOS has been announced

2018’s ‘JP Partnership’ between Josh Pyke and APRA AMCOS has been announced

Entering its fifth year, Josh Pyke and APRA AMCOS have again announced their partnership, set to award a lucky Australian musician with a $7500 grant to help develop their career.

The winner will also receive exclusive mentorship from Josh Pyke, Gregg Donovan (Wonderlick Entertainment) and Stephen Wade (Select Music) and execute a business plan that will support the progression of their career.

“I’m extremely excited to announce the JP Partnership will be returning this year! APRA AMCOS has generously partnered up with me again, and we will be awarding $7500 and mentorship to the winner. Get your entries in ASAP! Looking forward to hearing some exciting new music,” says Josh.

Last year’s winner, Angie McMahon’s success is a product of the dedication and hard work that is aided by the prize. Since receiving the award, the Melbourne based artist has played festivals like Laneway, Secret Garden and NYE On The Hill and will open for huge Australian acts like Angus & Julia Stone in 2018.

“This prize had a huge effect on my year because it meant I could pursue the professional goals I’d set for myself,” says Angie. “The vote of confidence from Josh Pyke and APRA helped people believe in my music, which is very powerful, and I’ve been busy pursuing opportunities since receiving the prize. It felt like I’d been passed the relay baton, and then I was off and running.”

To enter, applicants must not be signed to a recording or publishing company and must submit a business plan outlining how they would use the $7500 grant.

Entries are now open and will close at 5PM AEDT on March 31, 2018 with the winner being announced 8 June 2018.
