The winners for the 2019 Screen Music Awards have been handed out in Melbourne, with the likes of Antony Partos, and Paul Kelly taking home big awards on the night.
For 17 years now, APRA AMCOS have recognised the musical work done by those behind the screen with the annual Screen Music Awards.
Having announced some of the best and brightest in Australia as the 2019 nominees recently, Wednesday, November 20th saw countless music-lovers make their way into Melbourne’s Forum for a ceremony to recognise the country’s musical brilliance.
Hosted by Justine Clarke and featuring Jessica Wells as Musical Director, the evening was undoubtedly a big one for Antony Partos, who took home three awards on the evening.
Receiving the award for Feature Film Score of the Year for I Am Mother alongside Dan Luscombe, Partos was also recognised for his television work, winning Best Television Theme award and the Best Music for a Television Series or Serial award for ‘Bloom’, sharing the latter honour with Jackson Milas.
Meanwhile, icons such as Paul Kelly and David Bridie took home the awards for Best Original Song Composed for the Screen and Best Music for a Documentary, respectively, while Piers Burbrook de Vere received the Best Soundtrack Album award for Little Monsters.
Lastly, statistical analysis was used to award Adam Gock and Dinesh Wicks as the Most Performed Screen Composers in Australia, while Neil Sutherland took home the overseas honour.
