The Australian contingent headed to South By Southwest, arguably one of the world’s larges music conferences, is going to be a healthy one.
While the full list of Australian and New Zealand acts headed to Austin, Texas next March won’t be announced until January, 18 local acts have been confirmed including Skegss, Bloods, and WAAX. While eight Kiwis have been confirmed including BIGSOUND standouts The Beths and The Chills.
Byron Bay rockers Skegss are set to deliver a stunning array of catchy tunes from the group’s debut record, My Own Mess.
Brisbane post-punk band WAAX will be heading to the US off the back of supporting Biffy Clyro during their Australian tour and signing to Dew Process/UMA.
Sydney’s Bloods will be treating SXSW punters to tracks from their latest LP Feelings, released August 17.
