Soothsayer, the boutique, electronic-leaning label, has struck a pan-European deal with Horst Weidenmueller’s indie powerhouse !K7 Music.

Through the new agreement, announced Thursday (Sept. 10), !K7 will distribute Soothsayer’s roster throughout the U.K. and Europe.

Based in Melbourne and launched by 2016, Soothsayer is a Mushroom Group company with a stable of artists including ALTA, Dro Carey, CC:DISCO!, Juno Mamba, Love Deluxe and new signing Jonny Reebok.

“This is a really exciting next step in the Soothsayer story,” comments Chris Rigney, A&R Manager, Soothsayer.

“The label is four years old now and setting up a strong foundation for our artists in such a key market is integral to continue to grow the roster while continuing to develop our artists to ensure success not just at home but abroad.”

Weidenmueller, a power player for the European independent music community, founded !K7 in Berlin back in 1985, aged just 21.

“We’re thrilled to link up with the Soothsayer team to help them further build and expand their profile and support all the label’s fantastic releases in Europe,” notes Adrian Hughes, Head Of Artist & Label Services, !K7.

“Chris has a great A&R vision for the label with an ambitious and professional team around him and we are looking forward to creating a strong partnership in these challenging times.”

According to a statement, !K7 will work with Mushroom’s London-based team to “ensure further opportunity to get Soothsayer’s music not only into new ears via digital distribution, but into the hands of fans” through its relationships with record stores and by “developing territory specific strategic planning around releases.”
