Super Duper enters ‘new era’ with Alex the Astronaut, Jaguar Jonze and others

Super Duper is back in business.

After a years-long stint abroad, Genna Alexopoulos returns to her homeland and reanimates her PR and comms business with its founding client roster and several new stablemates.

Based in Melbourne, Super Duper welcomes Alex the Astronaut, Camp Cope, and Divide and Dissolve back into the fold, and expands its roster with 2021 AIR Outstanding Achievement Award recipient Jaguar Jonze and bedroom-pop newcomer Harley Alaska.

Alexopoulos established Super Duper back in 2013. Over the next five years, she worked with the likes of Live Nation, Sydney Opera House, Zoos Victoria, Taronga Zoo and National Geographic, and supported tours for Kendrick Lamar, Paramore, Florence and the Machine and more.

“I’ve worked in the entertainment industry all my life and I’m thrilled by the opportunity to fold in a mission-driven angle to this new era of Super Duper,” comments Alexopoulos in a statement.

“I’m obsessed with building community, advocacy and expanding footprints through connecting with like-minded people. The artists I work with are very passionate and often are advocating for something bigger than themselves. It’s an energy that makes me and others feel invincible and I’m excited to leverage that into other industries.”

In 2018, she pressed pause while an opportunity opened-up in Canada with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and, more recently, launched PR activities at Sid Lee Toronto in tandem with their Montreal and New York City offices, working with such high-profile clients as United Nations Development Program, Hyundai and The DMZ Black Innovation Fellowship.

During that time, she served as a founding member of Sid Lee’s global DEI program in which she co-led the Community taskforce.

Super Duper’s objective, says Alexopoulos, is to serve the music and entertainment industry, and to support those brands, companies and leadership figures on a mission to “leave their corner of the world in a better place than they found it.”

Alexopoulos is passionate about contributing to and building ecosystems on a local level.

Over time, she has fundraised over $10,000 for Girls Rock! Australia, earmarked for scholarships for applicants from low income households, participated as a committee member for Helping Hoops, and more.

A portion of Super Duper’s revenues will be donated each month to charity and not-for-profit organisations.
