Support Act’s Head First conference has new dates

Support Act’s Head First is heading back to Sydney.

The day-long music industry conference is set to take place at the fresh Australian Institute of Music (AIM) campus at The Rocks on May 25, 2022.

Presenter, podcaster and author Yumi Stynes will host the event, an exploration and discussion of mental health and wellbeing.

“With all of the pandemic-related setbacks we’ve all faced over these past two years, taking the time to reconnect and talk about our mental health and wellbeing has never been more important,” comments Support Act CEO Clive Miller.

“We hope that everyone across our music community can come together to finally catch up in person, reset and re-prioritise the importance of mental health and wellbeing in these challenging times.”

The fixed new date is a relief not just for those industry professionals who need help and insights during these tough times, but it’s something of a blessing for organisers, who have twice had to cancel the conference due to the pandemic.

The gathering was originally penciled in for July 29, 2021 at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) in Surry Hills, then, due to the health crisis, was delayed to October.

Head First is open to anyone in the music industry, from musicians and managers to crew and music workers, and is priced at $39, a fee includes a light breakfast, hot drinks, lunch, afternoon tea, live performances and networking drinks.

An initiative of Support Act, Head First was created as a space for industry professionals to discuss the issues surrounding mental health and wellbeing, with sessions focused on the four pillars of Health, Future, Workplace and Culture.
