Melbourne’s The Teskey Brothers land global record deals

Melbourne’s The Teskey Brothers are the latest addition to Mushroom Group‘s Ivy League Records, and iconic American label Glassnote Records for the rest of the world ex AU/NZ/EU/UK.

Joining a roster of beloved local acts like The Rubens, Josh Pyke, Bad//Dreems and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever on Ivy League, The Teskey Brothers will maintain their indie alignment. Half Mile Harvest, the band’s 2017-released debut album, was self-recorded and produced in the band’s own Warrandyte home studio. It was as organic a process as you’d expect from a band whose sound draws heavy influence from old school blues and soul.

Having hit #2 on the AUS iTunes chart, selling over 20,000 albums, playing sold out Australian, US/UK headline tours and just completing an explosive set at Fuji Rock Festival over the weekend, The Teskey Brothers have shown how doing it your own way can lead to a dedicated fanbase.

Teskey’s bassist and producer Brendon Love says of the signing:

“The Teskeys are extremely happy to be joining the Ivy League family. They are a forward-thinking and enthusiastic bunch of music nerds and we couldn’t imagine a better home for our band. Having been together for 12 years and never worked with a label or publisher before it was super important to us that there was an understanding of our approach to music. Ivy League totally get it.”

Mushroom Label’s C.O.O, Chris Maund said:

“We are soooooo excited to be working with The Teskeys. They have achieved so much already and we feel so lucky and honoured to have the opportunity to take their classic soul/blues soaked songs and sound to the next level.”

The Teskey Brothers are in fine company on US label Glassnote Records, with CHVRCHES, Jade Bird, Mumford & Sons, Phoenix and Two Door Cinema Club all on the Glassnote roster.
