triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2020 countdown: Details are here

With just under a month to go until the end of one of the strangest years on record, triple j have begun looking ahead to brighter days, announcing the details of their forthcoming Hottest 100 of 2020.

Following on from a record-breaking 2019 countdown (attracted 3,211,596 votes) which saw Billie Eilish become the first solo female artist to top the poll, and their Hottest 100 of The Decade countdown which saw Tame Impala take out top honours, the public broadcaster has now unveiled the details surrounding their upcoming poll.

Set to take place on Saturday, January 23rd, voting for the 2020 countdown opens on Tuesday, December 8th, and runs until Monday, January 18th, giving music-lovers ample time to raid their record collections and Spotify playlists in order to have their say.

As recent tradition dictates, triple j will then count down the Hottest 200 the following day, on Sunday, January 24th, while Double J will replay the Hottest 100 of 2000 on Monday, January 25th. Then, later that week on Friday, January 29th, rage will broadcast the Hottest 100 videos.

This year, triple j’s Hottest 100 has announced they’re set to partner with Lifeline, the leading provider of crisis support and suicide prevention in Australia. According to the station, it costs Lifeline $39 to answer a call of help, which is the same price as their newly-announced Hottest 100 x Lifeline t-shirt.
