Milk! Records have teamed up with Amped Up to offer a series of online workshops aimed at young music creators and music fans.
Taking place on Thursday, October 28th at 5:30pm AEDT, they’ll be hosting a livestream and Q&A on the Milk! Instagram to discuss all things branding and visual identity.
When the world is dominated more than ever by social media, crafting a strong online portfolio is of the utmost importance.
“We know the thought of “branding” yourself and your work can be daunting so jump online and have your questions answered by those who’ve been there and are doing that!” Milk! wrote on Instagram when introducing the livestream today.
Joining the livestream will be two speakers who have, in their own ways, developed strong visual identities as musicians Steph Hughes and Jhm to go into detail about their personal experiences in developing a visual identity/”brand” as a musician.

Hughes is an illustrator, musician, and community art facilitator. Known as a musician in excellent bands like Dick Diver and Boomgates, her illustration career actually started with making gig posters for her and her friend’s bands. She’s since had experience creating an array of editorial work, logos, maps, and murals.
Jhm is the project of singer-songwriter and producer Jessie Hillel. Having signed with Push Records earlier in the year, Jhm delivers songs which feel like “old friends with new shoes”, crafting a strong persona through her striking looks and ethereal melodies.
Amped Up proudly support local young creators and music fans through inclusive all-ages gigs and digital content. They’ve worked with bands such as Jeff Rosenstock, Northlane, Ocean Grove, and In Hearts Wake.
